Which set of golf clubs?
I have a set of 90's Lynx Parallax irons. I'm looking at 4 different sets.
Hippo XXL Hybrid Iron Golf Club Set (3-PW),
Nike Slingshot OSS Iron Set (4-AW)
Hippo XXL Combo Hybrid Iron Golf Setn (3-6 hybrid) 7-pw standard,
The Nike SQ Sumo Squared Hybrid iron set 4 high-MOI square head hybrids [4H, 5H, 6H & 7H] to replace hard-to-hit long irons.
I'm trying to improve my game.
Thanks for any and all help!
Are they that much beter than the Hippo full set of Hybrids?
Well, the Nike Sumo2 Hybrid Iron set is by far your best option of those 4 choices. You might get a little grief from your buddies having 4 hybrids in the bag but if you don't care go for it.
Personally I'd pick up a set of Mizuno MX 950's, you get the 3 & 4 hybrids and the rest of the set are sweet, forgiving, forged irons from the best iron maker in the biz.
Update: My wife had a set of Hippo Lady Magia hybrids and I'll tell you those club were complete junk. Personally to me HIppo is down there about the same caliber as Walmart specials. The have little to no resale value, as they are not sought after at all, unlike the Nike's which could easily be sold if necessary. The Sumo2 's are a far superior club to any Hippo. However, are you going to hit them any further even with senior flex? Maybe but I doubt your going to get the gains your hoping for.
As far as I'm concerned senior flex is strictly for older guys who have lost a lot of swing speed and stronger female golfers, thats it. You'd probably be better off sticking with regular flex shafts but getting a better set then those Lynx irons.
The distance your looking for is working out in the gym and increasing your flexibility.
Also remember that surfing around the Net, reading forums and such it seems like everyone hits the ball 310 yards thats just a bunch of BS. I'm at the range practically everyday and I rarely see anyone even getting it out there past 260 yards.
I sold an Callaway FT-I driver to a guy the other day, we met at the range so he could try it out. He told me he hit it 300 of course but when we got out there he was hitting like 230 at best. Everyone inflates their yardage 30-70 yards on the Internet.

With the Nike SasQuatch Sumo Squared 5900 Driver, Nike engineers have pushed MOI (moment of inertia), volume and impact efficiency to the USGA limits, all in one club. The result is the straightest, most accurate driver they've ever made.
Look and Feel
The first thing you notice is the shear size of the square clubhead on the Nike SQ Sumo2 5900 driver and its stealth like matte black paint job and grey outline of the PowerBow design at the rear of the clubhead. It’s hard to imagine missing the ball with this square driver and gives you extra confidence when you tee up your ball. The square shape is attributed to SQ Sumo2 5900 geometry, that pushes all the shape in all directions to improve performance. The SQ Sumo2 5900 has a deeper face, convex crown, and redefined body shaping to increase ball speed and accuracy. The sole of the club utilizes the a Mono Rail Sole design to make the club easy to hit. The lightweight tour quality, 65 gram regular flex Diamana Yellow Board Shaft by Mitsubushi, provides optimum distance and accuracy.
Performance
There are couple of things that Nike engineers did to make the Nike SQ Sumo2 5900 driver, probably one of the most straight and accurate drivers for its size. Nike engineers utilized the Sumo SQ2 geometry to give the 5900 driver its distinct square shape and body shaping to increase ball speed and accuracy. You’ll really begin to appreciate square shape when you start bombing your drives down the fairway, like I managed to do with very little loss in accuracy. The ball just explodes off the multi-thickness titanium face of the club, transferring the energy into the ball, which gives you longer drives. The PoweBow Geometry moves all the weight of the club to the farthest corners of the SQ Sumo2 5900 driver, which lowers the center of gravity further back in the club and achieve high M. O. I. The PowerBow weighting is located on the rear of the club and outlined in grey on the top of the crown. The lower center of gravity also makes the head of the SQ Sumo2 5900 very stable and extremely accurate and longer drives. The Super Moment of Inertia in the SQ Sumo2 5900, make this driver extremely forgiving on miss hits, but also make your drive fly at such a high launch angle and trajectory. My drives would literally hang in the air and travel quite a long distance, without any loss of accuracy or control. In terms of shot shaping, it could not have been any easier to play a fade or draw with SQ Sumo2 5900, without any loss in distance or accuracy. Overall I was quite amazed at how well this driver performed based on its large square shape and have to hand it to Nike’s engineer’s for developing a driver with the highest M.O.I. allowed in golf. You may not have the golf skills of Stewart Cink, but at least you can have the same great driver he uses in your golf bag.
Features:
1. SasQuatch Sumo 5900 Geometry — The SasQuatch Sumo Squared 5900 has a deeper face, a convex crown and redefined body shaping to increase ball speed and accuracy
2. Multi-Thickness Face — The entire clubface is optimized to maximize faster ball speeds from every point on the face
3. Nike PowerBow Weighting — Weight is repositioned to the farthest corners of the Nike PowerBow design, optimizing head stability and delivering ultimate accuracy
